There is a known connection issue with PPTP over certain 3G and 4G mobile networks.
If you're having issues, please try the following,
1 - Create a new APN keeping everything similar to the default APN
2 - Under APN Protocol change it from IPV6 to IPv4
3 - Under APN Roaming change it from IPV6 to IPV4
This should resolve any PPTP connection issues over 3/4G mobile networks.
